Oxford Research Group is hosting an event on Trident: 'arguments for, against and alternatives' in association with the how to: Academy. The event will bring together political figures and commentators to debate the arguments and controversy surrounding the UK's nuclear deterrent.
'Trident is on the agenda again. Our nuclear submarines are due for replacement, at a cost estimated between £15bn and £100bn. But will they make the UK safer?'
Among those speaking will be ORG's Global Security Consultant Professor Paul Rogers, as well as former Foreign and Defence Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind, SNP spokesperson on Defence Brendan O'Hara MP and Dr Patricia Lewis of Chatham House. The event will be moderated by Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA and former Chief Advisor on Political Strategy to Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The event will take place at 7.15pm on 26 November at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill, London.
