Does Hassan Rouhani's coming to the presidency mark the beginning of a new era for Iran?

This was the overarching question put to our Iran Researcher, Aniseh Bassiri Tabrizi, in an in-depth radio interview with Unity FM about the June 2013 election of the new, arguably moderate, President-elect of Iran, Hassan Rouhani.

Listen to Aniseh Bassiri from Hour 1:18 onwards:

About The Programme (taken from the Unity FM website):

Prof Anatol Lieven, Professor of War Studies at Kings College London, Author of the book: "Pakistan A Hard Country", and former Journalist in Afghanistan, documents the history of the Taliban.

Mr Ali Dayan Hassan, Director of Human Rights Watch Pakistan, joins us on the line directly from Lahore to condemn the Taliban's recent attack on a group of young female university students and calls upon the Pakistani government to do more to fight the Taliban.

Aniseh Bassiri Tabrizi, Freelance Researcher of the Iran Project of the Oxford Research Group, talks to us about the election of the new, arguably moderate, President Elect of Iran, Mr Rouhani, and whether his coming to the Presidency marks the beginning of a new dawn for Iran.
