Gabrielle Rifkind is a senior consultant to the Middle East Programme, which she founded and directed until 2015. She is the Director of the Oxford Process, an independent preventive diplomacy initiative pioneered through her dialogue work with Oxford Research Group (ORG). Marzuq Halabi

Job title:  Local Coordinator, Palestinian Citizens of Israel Group

Marzuq Halabi is the Local Coordinator of the Palestinian Citizens of Israel Group under the Middle East Programme at Oxford Research Group (ORG). He is a journalist, writer, political advisor and strategic and organisational consultant. He works with several civil society organizations and parties, such as Adalah and Dirasat. He has been a prolific contributor on the subject of Palestinians in Israel, particularly on the development of new models of partnerships between Palestinian and Jewish Israelis. Read more »

Dr Bashir Bashir

Bashir Bashir works with ORG as a consultant on its strategic thinking projects in Israel and Palestine. He is a Research Fellow at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, our local partner. He taught political philosophy at the LSE, Queen's University, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His primary research interests are deliberative democracy, multiculturalism, the politics of reconciliation, theories of citizenship, and Palestinian nationalism. Read more »

Palestinian Citizens of Israel Project: First Workshop

The first workshop, engaging a small group of leading Palestinian Citizens of Israel, facilitated by ORG, took place from 9-12 April 2012 at a residential centre in the Oxfordshire countryside. The workshop, the first of a series of meetings, created a neutral and open space for participants to discuss the new realities and challenges facing the Palestinian community inside Israel today.  Read more »

The Palestinian Citizens of Israel

In close consultation with local partners and prospective participants, this initiative engages with the issues of the Palestinians in Israel. We aim to foster inclusive internal dialogue among Palestinians in Israel to develop a strategic vision in order to impact policy-making in Israel and internationally. This group is particularly crucial at this time as Israeli society veers further to the right and discriminatory bills that directly affect and target Palestinian citizens of Israel are brought before the Knesset. Professor Oliver Ramsbotham

Job title:  Senior Consultant, Middle East Programme

Oliver Ramsbotham is a Consultant on Oxford Research Group's (ORG) Middle East Programme. He was Chair of the Board from April 2007 until July 2013.

Oliver is a specialist on conflict resolution and designed an original approach to handling 'intractable' conflict, which he calls ‘radical disagreement’. This approach both informs - and is informed by - ORG's ongoing work with the Palestinian Strategic Group and the Israeli Strategic Forum.  Read more »
