John Sloboda is Co-Director with Hamit Dardagan of Oxford Research Group's (ORG) Every Casualty programme. From 2004 to 2009 he was Executive Director of ORG.

He is also Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Keele, an Honorary Professor in the Department of Economcs at Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Fellow of the British Academy. He is Co-founder of the Iraq Body Count project, which remains the only continuously updated source of event-based information about civilian casualties in the ongoing Iraq conflict. He is also a member of the advisory board of openbriefing.org. With Paul Rogers and Chris Abbott he is author of Beyond Terror: the Truth about the Real Threats to Our World (Rider, 2007).
